Household invites that actually work

• Household invites, fixed: if you set up a household on your own and then got invited to someone else's, you can now accept the invite. Accepting it takes you straight into their household.

Why we built it: We built Synx for our own use, so sometimes a rough experience doesn't get caught until somebody else needs it. In this case, two of our members were setting up a household together and got stuck. One of them had already created a household alone, so Synx wouldn't let them accept the other's invite. We fixed it so they could get set up, and so nobody else runs into it.

What you can do

• Accept an invite even if you started your own: if you're the only person in your household, you can still accept an invite to someone else's. When you accept, Synx deletes your old household for you, so you don't have to do it first.
• Go straight into the household when you accept: opening an invite now takes you into the household you were invited to. Before, you would see an error page, even though you successfully joined the household.
• Delete a household that's just you: if you're the only member, Settings → Household now has a Delete household button. Once it's gone, you can create a new household or join someone else's.
• Confirm before you delete or leave: deleting or leaving a household now provides a warning and asks you to confirm first.

Good to know

• Your accounts and transactions aren't deleted: deleting a household only removes the household. Your accounts and transactions stay with you, and show up in the new household you join.
• Already sharing with someone? If someone else has joined your household, accepting a different invite won't delete it. You'll be asked to leave from Settings → Household first, or have the other person remove you. Then open the invite again.
• Deleting can't be undone: once you confirm, the household is gone. You can always create a new one.
