A finance product built for the way we live. New notes go up when I have a real story worth writing down, not on a schedule.
📱 The Synx Finance Mobile App gets the website's dark teal look, lets you add cash purchases, and asks you about charges it isn't sure of.
Why we built it
The app still looked like an older version of Synx, and a few things you could do on the website, like adding a cash purchase, still meant opening a laptop.
🏠 Add a rental property, point it at the tag you already use for it, and see a year of its money in, money out and net on one page.
🧳 Split groups now share one page everyone in the trip can see, split charges with just the people involved, and invite family who don't use Synx.
🤝 Split shows who owes you and who you owe, keeps trips together, and settles up against the Venmo or Zelle payment you already made.
📱 The Synx Finance Mobile App now splits charges, remembers your filters, and shows every detail of a transaction, just like the website.
I keep a short-term rental's books in Synx with one tag and a handful of automation rules, and my receipts land on the right transaction by themselves. Here's the whole setup.
🏠 Joining someone's household now works even if you already started your own, and accepting an invite takes you straight in.
See whether your cash and paychecks cover the card and loan payments due in the next 30 days. What to link, how to add bills, and what stops the forecast.
🔮 Your dashboard now projects your balance over the next 30 days, accounting for your bills and paychecks, and alerts you if you're short.
💵 Money coming in used to be one word: Income. Now it's a paycheck, a rent cheque, a dividend or a side gig, and your old transactions have been re-filed too.
🔔 A Notifications page in Settings, and a plain answer sitting on it. Synx sends you nothing today, and when that changes it will be because you asked for it.
🍎 The Synx iPhone app is live on the App Store. Sign in with a code, unlock with Face ID, and check your accounts, transactions, and spending from your phone.
🔎 Open the month behind your Cash Flow number and read every transaction in it, sorted into money in, money out, and money moved between your own accounts. Card payments now say what they are.
💵 Two new sections at the top of your dashboard: what you hold right now, and how much came in against how much went out this month.
🏦 Hiding a transaction from your spending chart no longer takes it out of your cash flow, and accounts we can't identify are named on screen instead of guessed at.
🕒 A small clock marks any charge your bank hasn't finished posting, so you know which amounts and dates can still change.
🏷️ Create a rule that tags a merchant, flip one switch, and it tags every past transaction that matches. You see the count before you commit.
🎨 The colors you pick for your tags now show up on the Transactions page, and Tagged Money on Spend shows a tag's savings and investments right next to its spending.
📊 Flip the spend page from months to years: one bar per year, this year counted through today, and every breakdown below follows the year you pick.
🧾 Receipts get their own page: search everything you've forwarded, watch a new one get filed as it happens, and keep an eye on what's still under warranty.
📩 Forward any order confirmation to your private Synx address and it attaches to the right purchase, with the product's warranty and registration deadline filled in for you.
🏷️ Type a tag like "2026 Amsterdam" and it stays exactly that way, capitals and all, on every screen instead of turning into "2026 amsterdam".
🧾 Get a refund or a credit and it now comes off what you spent for the month, and your spending total reads the same on every screen.
🔁 Recurring graduates from Beta. A new dashboard tile shows what's about to leave your account in the next 7 days, and the detection behind it got noticeably sharper.
👥 Household is now a full part of Synx. Either partner can tidy and tag any transaction in the shared view, and a credit card you share stops getting counted twice.
🏷️ Tagging transactions is now instant. Tag several in a row without the little pause after each one.
🚩 Spot a transaction that's wrong, duplicated, or from the wrong store? Flag it for review in a couple of taps, and a real person on our team looks into it.
A real workflow from someone who lives in the same chaos he built the product for. No joint account. No shared password. Both of us still see the household picture every Sunday.
💳 See every card's bonus categories right on your Accounts page, plus a live month-to-date scoreboard of cashback you earned and the exact swaps that would have earned more.
💸 Break a single charge into the pieces it actually was: different categories for each part, and a "needs payback" tag for the times you picked up the bill.
📱 The Synx Android app is live in Google Play. Sign in with a code, unlock with your fingerprint, and check your accounts, transactions, and spending from your phone.
📅 Pick the month and year you want from a dropdown, or just type the dates. No more clicking the back arrow 24 times to look at transactions from two years ago.
🔁 Synx watches your actual transactions, picks out what repeats, and tells you when each one is next going to hit. Calendar-aware, household-aware, and easy to archive the noise.
👥 Invite your partner into a shared view of spending, budgets, and categories, without merging logins or giving up your private accounts.
🌙 Pick light, dark, or match your device. One choice applies across the whole site and app, with colors tuned so everything stays clear and readable.
🎯 Monthly, annual, and trip budgets tied to categories and tags. Pacing, roll-ups, and history in one calm place.
✨ First public release. Connect accounts, see spending clearly, and skip the spreadsheet grind.
