Synx Finance Mobile App 1.0.1: split, filter, and fix transactions on the go
v0.1.292 min read
- Synx Finance Mobile App, version 1.0.1: out now on both iPhone and Android. It's the first update since the app launched on iPhone in August, and it's free on the App Store and Google Play.
Why we built it: The mobile app showed you less about a transaction than the website did, so anything past a quick glance meant opening a laptop. This update closes most of that gap on the transaction screen.
What you can do
- See everything about a transaction: tap any charge to see its account, bank, category, tags, note, receipts, and warranty coverage. A Payment Details section shows whether the charge is still pending, the date you actually paid, and the exact text your bank sent.
- Open any transaction, however old: older charges used to keep loading forever when you tapped them. Now every one opens.
- Split a charge: tap Split transaction on a charge and divide it evenly, by dollar amount, or by percent. Each piece gets its own category and a note like "Mike's portion." Synx shows you what's left to allocate, so a split can't come out a penny off.
- Spot what's going on at a glance: small icons on each row show whether a charge is pending, split, recurring, has a receipt, or has a note. Charges you've hidden from spending are dimmed and crossed out.
- Filters that stick: set your filters once and they're still there when you come back, even after closing the app. Pick dates with one tap (This month, Last month, Last 90 days, This year) or from a calendar, instead of typing them in.
- Fix your partner's charges too: in a shared household, you can change the category or tags on your partner's transactions from your phone. Before, the controls were there but the change didn't save.
- Add accounts at a bank you've already connected: tap Connect Bank on the Accounts tab and pick the same bank. Synx reopens that connection so you can check off the new accounts.
- Removing a tag is instant: the tag disappears the moment you tap it.
