Synx for iPhone: your money, one glance away
v0.1.24π The Synx iPhone app is live on the App Store. Sign in with a code, unlock with Face ID, and check your accounts, transactions, and spending from your phone.
- Synx for iPhone: a native iPhone app, free on the App Store, that works from the same accounts and data you already use on the web.
Why we built it: Android has had this since May, and iPhone users have been opening a browser to answer questions that take five seconds. Did that show up? What's left in groceries? Did the transfer land? Those questions happen on the phone.
What you can do
- Sign in with a code, then Face ID: enter your email, type the six-digit code we send you, and you're in. Synx offers to turn on Face ID right after that first sign-in, so opening the app later takes a glance instead of another code.
- Open on Dashboard and see where you stand: your balances grouped into Cash, Investments, Credit Cards, Loans, and Other, what you've spent this month next to the same day last month, and your five most recent transactions underneath.
- Search and filter your transactions: type a merchant or a category to find it. Narrow by account, category, subcategory, tag, or a date range you set. Tap any row for the full detail.
- Fix a category from the couch: tap the category on a transaction to change it, and Synx offers to remember that merchant so the next one lands right on its own. Add or remove tags on the same screen.
- Connect a bank without leaving the app: Connect Bank on the Accounts tab runs the whole thing in place, and you pull down to refresh. If a connection breaks, an amber banner names it and walks you through reconnecting.
- Spending, two ways: the Analytics view has a month-by-month income and expense chart plus a spending donut you can open into categories and subcategories. The Budget view shows your monthly, annual, and trip trackers with progress against each limit.
- Switch between Personal and Household: if you share money with someone on the web, Settings β Account β View flips the whole app between just-you and the two of you, and the choice sticks.
Good to know
- Free, and nothing is sold inside it: the iPhone app costs nothing and has no purchase in it. Your Synx account is what it always was, handled on the web.
- United States only: the App Store listing is live in the US.
- Set your budgets on the web first: trackers are created on the web app. The phone shows you progress against them.
- Tags: look and add: you can see your tags and create a new one from the phone. Renaming, recoloring, and deleting still happen on the web.
- Some web features aren't on the phone yet: receipts, balance history, and splitting a transaction are web-only for now.
- Already using Synx on Android? Nothing changes. Same account, same data, whichever phone you pick up.
